At Party Animals Atlanta we provide a unique, hands-on experience for children of all ages with exotic creatures brought right to your school, library, summer camp, birthday party, or special event!
We bring 12 to 15 animals, including mammals, reptiles, amphibians and arachnids. I take each animal out individually and explain interesting facts about each one. Children are encouraged to touch each animal using a “two-fingered touch”. The combination of learning facts about each animal, seeing, and touching them, provides for a well rounded, educational experience that will last a lifetime. We also incorporate key scientific terms that will be tested on the CRCT.

Touch an African Spurred Tortoise. What's that? Come find out! Pet a Chinchilla straight from the Andes Mountains of South America, with some of the softest fur in the entire animal kingdom. Let a docile California King snake slither through your child's fingers, or let them rub their hands over the rough-skinned Bearded Dragon from the outback of Australia. Witness several rarely seen exotic tree frogs from the rain forests of the world. We have it all!
Your children will glow with enthusiasm as they encounter exotic creatures from all over the globe in the safe environment of your choosing.
Working for the National Park Service in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park as a fisheries biologistAs for me, I graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a B.S. degree in Zoology. I then worked as a Fisheries Biologist for the National Park Service in the Great Smoky Mountains and later for Zoo Atlanta. I love animals of all kinds, and they love me! Most of the animals used in our programs have been adopted by us. Many people are under-educated about the specific needs of exotic animals or have just found themselves unable to care for their loved pet. These animals now have a second chance here at Party Animals Atlanta.
All of our wonderful creatures are well taken care of and handled often. This minimizes stress on the animals and ensures a positive experience while always keeping the safety of your children as the highest priority.
All animals on earth are here for a reason and play a vital part in our delicate ecosystem. It is our job as adults to see that our youth are educated and not taught to fear what we are so fortunate to still be able to see and enjoy.
The bounties of Earth can open a world of new wonders for your children, and Party Animals Atlanta can be that pathway to enlightenment and sheer FUN!

African Spurred Tortoise
Name: Atilla
Adoption/ Rescue animal
These tortoises are the 3rd largest tortoise in the world sometimes reaching 150 pounds. They are from northern Africa along the southern edge of the Sahara desert. These tortoises have a high fiber/no protein diet and feed primarily on grasses such as Timothy Hay, Bermuda Grass and common grasses and weeds from our lawns. He is also given green leafy vegetables and occasionally some bulk vegetables.
--
Argus Monitor
Name: Slash
There are many types of monitors from around the world, including the Komodo Monitor, also known as the Komodo dragon. Argus Monitors are from parts of Indonesia and Australia. They can reach lengths of up to 5 ft.
--
Bearded Dragon
Name: Sydney
Adoption/Rescue animal
Commonly called “Beardies”, these lizards are from Australia and have become increasingly popular as pets due to there friendly nature. They stay relatively small and feed mostly on insects, vegetables, fruit and some over the counter Bearded Dragon food.
--
Chinchilla
Name: Jerry
Adopted/Rescue animal
Chinchillas are from the Andes Mountains of South America. They have some of the softest fur in the animal kingdom and, as a result, are very popular in the fur industry. They are lively animals with a lot of personality. Chinchillas live to be 15-20 years old and feed on hay, alfalfa pellets, nuts, oats, dried fruit, lentils, etc.
--
Holland Lop-eared Rabbit
Name: Peter
Adoption/Rescue animal
He is called a Lop-eared because of the way his ears hang down. Peter loves to be cuddled and is very affectionate. He loves golden raisins as a treat.
--
Emporer Scorpion
Name: Scorpio
The Emperor Scorpion is native to Africa and is one of the largest scorpions in the world. These scorpions are commonly kept in classrooms because of their large size and lack of potent venom. The sting is reported to be the same as that of a bee sting. This is a “hands off” animal and will remain in its enclosure throughout the program. Scorpions will illuminate under black lighting and this is what we will demonstrate.
--
California Kingsnake
Name: Oreo
Adoption/Rescue animal
King snakes are given their name due to them eating other snakes in the wild, including poisonous snakes. We do not give Oreo other snakes to eat though, she eats mice. She is by far the most docile snake I have ever worked with and she is absolutely fantastic with the kids.
--
Waxy Monkey Tree Frog
Name: Chuck
I had only seen a Waxy Monkey Tree Frog once before in my life at the Nashville Zoo years ago, and what a treat! Now you too can see him in person. Chuck is from the arid regions of South America. He gets his name by the way he “climbs” through trees like a monkey, rather than jumping. He also secretes a waxy substance which he covers himself with to prevent water loss in the arid regions.
